My favorite chair is my hummingbird chair. When I have a spare moment I sit, watch, wait and listen for my favorite bird to appear. Hummingbirds are busy and brilliant in the mornings— their chirps let me know they are there and their mid-air chases are the best. Catching them on their perch as they eat, or as they sit on a tree branch gives just a moment to observe their tiny bodies and beaks. Much like the hummingbirds, we all have very little downtime in our world today. These “slow” moments provide me great joy- even if the time passes as fast as the hummingbird’s wings!! Here in the Northwest, we are lucky to have hummingbirds all year round so we are sure to keep them stocked with sugar water and have several feeders available. I find it ironic that one of my favorite things is fed sugar water (ha!) yet it’s a perfect example of how our needs are unique and individual. We all require our own plan to be able to survive and thrive in the “environments” we live in. It’s all such a great example and reminder of how nature and nurture are always working together. Be well! xoxo
